Berry Fun for Mother’s Day

By Rosalind Ashe

Prickly Pear Bakehouse is back! After popular baking webinars in December 2020 and
April 2021, Karma members and those who are curious about Karma will have the
opportunity to learn how to bake Orange-Cranberry Scones (fruit substitutions welcome).

Karma-member, Inayat, has taken numerous courses on baking as part of
her travels and formal baking classes. On the weekends, she spends time in the
kitchen, working on her side-hustle: Prickly Pear Bakehouse.

Hustle along and register for this FREE virtual event. Bring your Mother (or not)! Mark
your calendars for Sunday, May 9 from 11 to 12:15, EST. Please send an email to to register. Your personalized event link and recipe
details will be emailed to you closer to the date.

How is this different from following a recipe by yourself, you ask? Put the kettle on and plan for a ‘high tea’ break. Time flies when you’re baking with Inayat. Before you know it, you’ll have mouth-watering scones AND expert tips that you can apply to your next baking adventure.

No special equipment needed, other than a rolling pin! Follow a
simple recipe featuring ingredients that can be found at Karma Co-op, including delicious loose-leaf teas and jams to go along with your scones. Remember your bulk containers!

Although this is a FREE event, we’re asking participants to consider making a small donation to a local food bank to help our neighbours at this time. We’re so inspired by the grassroots community fridge/food box initiatives. Every little bit helps.
